Cheryl L. Pollak is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. She has served in this position since November 1, 1995.[1][2]
Education
Judge Pollak received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University in 1975 and her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1978.[1]
Professional career
After law school, Ms. Pollak worked as a law clerk to U.S. Circuit Judge William Timbers. She then joined the law firm Davis, Polk & Wardwell in 1979. In 1986, she became an assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York. While in this office, she served as the chief of the Narcotics/OCDETF Unit and the deputy chief of the Criminal Division. She also worked as the international affairs and national security coordinator for the U.S. Attorney's Office.[1]
