Charles Rand Barnett participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on April 17, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Charles Rand Barnett's responses follow below.[1]
What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
“ | 1) Climate Change |
” |
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?
“ | America can leverage the power of working from home to fight climate change. As long as people working from home don't crank up their heating/ac for the whole house, this can make a huge and immediate impact. Creating an economy based on solar, wind and lithium is going to take decades and by the time we do that fusion might be ready. We can make an impact today by using existing telecommunications technology. We could have done this 20 years ago but we are in a much better position to do it today. We can make these minor sacrifices and it would be exciting to see the carbon emission numbers change for the better.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[3]

Ballotpedia also asked the candidate a series of optional questions. Charles Rand Barnett answered the following:
Is there a book, essay, film, or something else you would recommend to someone who wants to understand your political philosophy?
“ | Drawdown is a good book on climate change. I recommend Plane Trigonometry by Richard Heinemann for education.[3] | ” |
“ | My life story of going from jazz trombonist to teaching myself computer programming on the streets is a story that can be sensationalized and draw attention to climate change.[3] | ” |
“ | Nothing short of turning the tide on climate change.[3] | ” |
“ | A moon landing was my first memory.[3] | ” |
“ | I was a janitor for 3 years.[3] | ” |
“ | Plane Trigonometry.[3] | ” |
“ | KitchenAid gas range. I love to cook curries.[3] | ” |
“ | Pink Floyd - Brain Damage[3] | ” |
