Campaign website

Barry’s campaign website stated the following:

Where I Stand

Service and Solutions:

Across the district, regardless of party affiliation, many voters share their most important priorities are having leaders that listen, earn their trust, and fight for real solutions rather than virtue-signaling narratives.

My goal as your next representative in Congress is to serve you! I will not waiver from protecting your freedoms while fighting for solutions to everyday problems. Let’s work together to turn things around in our district, state, and nation! I look forward to hearing from you on the issues that matters to you most.

Border Security and Immigration

Stop the flow of immigrants over our southern border. Our communities, law enforcement, and economy can’t keep up with these numbers; our citizens are being harmed by the drugs, trafficking, and violent criminals; and those who wish to enter our nation by legal means are being delayed due to an overwhelmed system.

Revitalize the immigration system to make it more navigable for those seeking to come to America legally. Combining effective vetting processes with streamlined services will welcome those who wish to become citizens or migrant workers that many in our district depend on, especially our farmers.

Develop an effective system to dissuade and punish those who choose to break our laws and hurt others. Cartels, traffickers, and drug or weapon smugglers need to understand that America will no longer tolerate their foul play and harm to our people.

Education

Hold the Department of Education accountable for their use of your tax dollars. Our kids deserve wise investments, and as your representative, I will do what it takes to ensure that they are getting the best value for your dollars.

Prioritize academic achievement in the classroom. America is blessed with thousands of great teachers! We need to support them as they give children the tools they need to succeed, not fill their lesson plans with politics, adult topics, and other issues that are inappropriate for the classroom.

Increase access to trade and apprenticeship programs for high school students. These programs need to be available for every child to explore their skillset and prepare for their future.

Bring the authority of the classroom closer to home, understanding that our children are unique individuals that don’t fit into a “one-size-fits-all” education format.

Economy

Balance the federal budget by finding ways to cut back on spending without putting our citizens, including our seniors, at risk. If this nation is to last for another 250 years, we need to develop sustainable practices in federal finance.

Reverse the national debt by no longer accepting excuses for mortgaging the future of our nation. With over $34 trillion at the start of 2024, eliminating the national debt is not an overnight task, but we must change the trajectory now.

Carefully analyze where money is spent. There are many areas that money is being spent with little to no accountability. In Congress, I will take a hard look at where your tax dollars are going and eliminate the waste.

Change benefit cliffs to inclines, empowering those who have needed help in the past to get back up on their feet without punishing them for the process.

Veterans

Equip our vets to engage in the workforce and community after service by expanding the transfer of applicable military experience and training as college course credits.

Protect our vets’ 2nd Amendment rights, giving them the confidence to seek help for PTSD, depression, and other war-associated mental health concerns without fear of discrimination.

Improve our VA system nationwide to put easy access to necessary specialized treatment, accurate diagnoses, and shortened wait times for care within reach of every veteran.

Veterans

There is no denying that the increase of crime across our country is alarming. Crime in our cities is growing at an unprecedented rate, but the spreading reach of the crime is concerning many that live in rural areas, as well. People are no longer as safe, even in their small towns or on the farm, as they used to be. From Congress, I can:

Stop international criminals from harming American lives by implementing secure immigration policy that deters criminal behavior and keeps known terrorists off American soil.

Protect the rights of every citizen to protect themselves, their families, and their property from harm while considering fact-based security solutions for government buildings. (Did you know that locks on classroom doors could have saved dozens of lives during school shootings, but universal background checks wouldn’t have stopped a single one?)

Ensure that the federal justice system is setting the example of our American values: equal treatment under the law; support of our law enforcement; apolitical, single-tiered justice; and the principle of innocence until proven guilty. [2]

Expand all | Collapse all

I am a lifelong resident of Wisconsin's 2nd Congressional District, having lived in both the urban and rural areas throughout the years. Throughout my life, I have been active in the community, from working in the family business to involvement in a variety of volunteering opportunities. Simply stated, I am a passionate, hard-working American with a goal of taking that passionate work ethic to Washington and using it to represent my neighbors and preserve a sustainable America for future generations. In my free time, I enjoy music - writing, editing, playing, and singing -, helping kids get excited about learning, wildlife rehabilitation, and spending time with friends and family. I never thought that I would run for office, but I believe that our country is in desperate need of regular people to stand up and bring a new, result-focused perspective to government. I look forward to the opportunity to be able to bring that perspective to Washington, and to bring the benefit of it home to our district.
  • I believe strongly that, as your representative in Congress, I have a responsibility to be active in serving the people of my district. Sitting by while others do the trailblazing or the dirty work is not an option for me. You can count on me to be a leader in the House on issues that are important to and affect the lives of my constituents.
  • As your representative, I will work tirelessly for results, not an image. Our politics have become highly polarized and stereo-typed, and I will fight to push through the politics of any issue to find a workable solution. I am a problem solver. If an end goal is not immediately attainable, I will do what it takes to make steps towards that goal until it is reached. I am not afraid to cross the political aisle to accomplish a task because finding solutions to issues facing my constituents is more important than the politics of any issue. Let's do what's best for Americans!
  • I will hold to my standard of integrity and open honesty as your representative. I value constructive dialogue and will never shy away from respectful disagreement or criticism. I understand the value of multiple perspectives, and I am open to the fact that my constituents may have a view that, while I may not have seen an issue in the same way, needs to be considered in the bigger picture before decisions are made.
Education - I am passionate about our next generation! Children across our country are being failed by a one-size-fits-all mentality, and they deserve better! Our kids, parents, teachers, and communities alike would benefit from increased emphasis on core academia and workforce preparation in our schools. I will work towards the future by paving the way and opening doors for apprenticeships and trade programs in our high schools. This will give our students the opportunity and tools they need to explore a diversity of career prospects after graduation.

Economy - We need to focus our attention on cutting regulations that stifle growth. Entrepreneurship and open markets create opportunities for growth. Our energy sector needs to be unleashed, not encumbered in unending red tape. We need to cut spending across the board. Balanced budgets and strategic trade that allow our manufacturing sector to compete on the global stage will open the door for growth across the country.

Law and Order - I support our heroic law enforcement! Our country has seen some troubling times in the recent years, and many of our police and sheriff's departments have suffered, be it from decrease in funding or trouble recruiting needed officers, because of a negative public narrative pushed by many at the federal level. Because of this, our communities, especially our low income and minority communities, are suffering an increase in crime and lack of safety.
