Community Safety including first responders

Environmental preservation

Fiscal responsibility
The environment has always been a passion of mine and now living in the Bayshore area that still has active farmland, preservation is extremely important. I am also interested in Women's and Children's issues. Being a professional and a mother of three, combining both worlds can be challenging. I have been able to work with two companies that were willing to be creative in fusing both worlds for their employees and be successful companies. I would like to advocate for more companies to do this. As a Girl Scout leader since I was 18, I am a strong advocate for providing leadership programming for our youth.
I look up to the people in my immediate life who were examples of living a good life, being productive citizens, community activists and mentor to many. I believe people can and should contribute to improving their own corner of the world and I admire those who do that. They include my own Girl Scout leader who led troops and helped put amazing female leaders into our community for over 50 years, although she had no children of her own. My mentor and boss, an attorney who showed that work, family, community participation and running for office can all be part of a successful life style. My mother who was a teacher and also able to combine her family obligations with her community work in a healthy and successful way.
An ability to work with people, understand where they are coming from, that differences of opinion don't make people "wrong," desire to research to understand issues, to find commonalities between groups
