Business, Labor, and Technology Committee, Colorado State Senate
The Business, Labor, and Technology Committee is a standing committee of the Colorado State Senate. This committee was previously known as the Business Affairs and Labor Committee.
Per Senate Rule 21 standing committees for the Colorado State Senate are appointed by resolution at the first general session after a general election.[1] The State Senate Majority Leader appoints majority members to the committees, while the State Senate Minority Leader appoints minority members.[2] All appointees serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority.[3] Party representation is set proportionally to reflect the party representation of the two majority parties in the Senate.[4]

Function
“ | The Senate Business, Labor, and Technology Committee considers matters concerning the regulation of professions and occupations, property and casualty insurance, unemployment insurance, health insurance, workers' compensation insurance, economic development, banks and financial institutions, real estate, labor, and technology. In addition, the committee has legislative oversight responsibility for the Department of Labor, the Department of Personnel and Administration, the Department of Regulatory Agencies, and the Office of Information Technology.[5][6] | ” |
