Booker Terry Gainor, IV, has very deep, humble roots in the city of Cairo, Georgia, where he was born September 17, 1989. He is a "son of the soil." His family has had a presence in the community for many generations, and they have provided him with a strong work ethic and a respect for the dignity of others. He attended schools in the Grady County School System and graduated from Cairo High School in 2007.  Booker graduated from Florida A&M University on August 3, 2012, with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and a concentration in marketing.

After graduation, Booker returned to Cairo where he worked for the Community Network Services (CNS) as a cable technician.  During his tenure at CNS, he engaged in conversations with many residents in their homes, and he listened to their goals and dreams.  Their "up close and personal" dialogues inspired him to build his platform.  He resigned from his position at CNS and announced his bid to run for the city's highest office. Community outreach is important to Mr. Gainor, and he has spearheaded and participated in many events designed to support members of the community, especially the youth, including back to school supply drives, turkey giveaway, community Easter egg hunts, and community health fairs.

Through his activism, he added a significant page to the history books when he was elected Mayor of Cairo, Georgia, in 2017 at the age of 28.
  • Proven leadership built for the 21st century and beyond.

  • Withholding Nothing!
I am personally passionate about public policy that enhances the quality of life for all Georgians and advances our state on a global scale.
