I plan to do this by pushing for all elementary school students to be taught in a bilingual environment. I want our teachers to experience training across the state and abroad. I will also be pushing for passport grants for high-school students so that they can begin taking advantage of the free study-abroad opportunities. I am a former employee at The National Institute of Health within the Diversity and Inclusion Division. I would like to use my skills from there in creating tool-kits to help our hiring staff figure out how to effectively target the brightest, diverse individuals to come and teach and work at our schools.
I plan to tackle these issues by giving our legislators unique ways to find money for education, without hurting our community, like raising taxes on people that work in the county but do not live in the county. I also plan to continue to advocate for Kirwan funding so that our children receive the resources that they deserve.
