What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
Champion Local Business Fight Illegal Immigration Lower Property Taxes
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I want to keep our community safe by requiring our police department to implement SB4. Under our current mayor, our chief of police signed his name opposing this state law. As a 6th generation Arlingtonite and mother of 4, I want to keep our city safe from criminal illegals. When I worked as a 911 Operator and Jailer, I personally processed illegal immigrants over to ICE. It is a very easy process and one that the City of Arlington should readily implement. Under my leadership, we will.
Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?
President Donald Trump and Sarah Palin are two elected officials that I admire. They are strong, independent leaders who display common sense and put the people they represent first. President Trump is willing to take on the establishment to best serve the people of our country. I am willing to take on the local establishment so that the people of our community will be put first.
Is there a book, essay, film, or something else you would recommend to someone who wants to understand your political philosophy?
One of my favorite books is The Secret. In it we learn that we have the power to manifest the positive changes that we desire.
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
Being truthful, full of integrity, and selfless service to the people they represent.
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
In an age of timid elected officials and political correctness, I am a person who will tell the truth with boldness and courage.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
To reduce the scope of government in our citizens lives. To be a leader in our community to help folks succeed through being an empowering example. To keep our citizens safe from illegal immigrants. To build the morale and unify our first responders. Under our current leadership, morale at the fire department is at an all time low and we have a police department that has been divided. When mayor, I will rebuild the morale and help unify our police.
What legacy would you like to leave?
Scripture says that when the righteous are in power, the people rejoice. That is my desire.
What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?
Fall of the Berlin Wall. At the time, I didn't fully understand the significance of it but as years passed I realized that the freedoms we cherish are the exception to most of the world even today.
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
Working with my dad :). He has owned a landscape company for 35 years and I helped him run his crews.
What is your favorite book? Why?
The Book of Proverbs. It's wisdom is timeless.
If you could be any fictional character, who would you want to be?
Katniss from the Hunger Games
What is your favorite thing in your home or apartment? Why?
My children. They are truly a gift from God.
What is something that has been a struggle in your life?
Being too abrasive. I have a strong sense of fairness and justice and I have had to learn use temperance to help serve as a counter balance.
A mayor is a leader in his or her city. What does that mean to you?
John Maxwell said that leadership is influence, nothing more, nothing less. As a leader serving in this position, the citizens can expect me to influence positive change in our community. First by being a champion of locally owned businesses. These entrepreneurial citizens will finally have a mayor going to bat for them. I will work to end the mentality of victim-hood that plagues so many and work to empower our community with our traditional American value of personal responsibility. Furthermore, I will be the voice of those endangered by illegal immigration. I will speak with boldness and stand with courage on this the greatest issue of our generation.
Mayors have many responsibilities, which vary from city to city. Which of those do you personally consider the most important in your city?
Building the morale of our city staff and empower them to best serve our citizens on a daily basis. Working on the behalf of our citizens first and setting such a high standard that we can serve as an example to other municipalities.
If the mayor in your city is a member of the city council and there's a city manager appointed to handle the day-to-day administration of the city government, what do you believe should be the mayor's top priority in office?
Leadership is from the top. When the team is losing, the head coach gets fired. It will be my priority to make sure that our city staff is fully trained and faithfully serves our citizens. My first order of business will be to either work with the current city manager to accomplish this goal or seek a well suited replacement. Arlington Citizens First!
What do you love most about your city?
The amazing people! Their courage to live out their dreams and stand for unpopular politically incorrect ideas but ones that must be faced head on.
What do you perceive to be your city's greatest challenges over the next decade?
We are being overrun with illegal immigrant. Our schools, our social services, our jails, etc. Secondly is our property taxes. We must reduce them now before they continue to get out of control. And we need an office of ambassador, which many other cities have, to serve as a go between for the local business owner and the city staff. We must let our local business owners know that we are on their side.
What do you believe is the ideal relationship between your city and the state government?
Ideally, we would have a mayor and chief of police that would adhere to SB4 instead of opposing it. If elected, I will be that mayor who does so and will require our chief of police to follow suit.
What do you believe is the ideal relationship between your city and the federal government?
As the only candidate who has personally and professionally processed illegal immigrants from our community, we must build a strong, supportive relationship with ICE to expedite any criminal illegal immigrants out of our jail system asap.
