Campaign themes

2014

Lagos' website highlighted the following campaign themes:[1]

Political Philosophy

  • Excerpt: "Government needs to stay out of our wallets and our personal lives."

Jobs

  • Excerpt: "We need to attract new employers, and we need to take care of the workers we already have. The State Representative from Clark County needs to make it known that Clark County is the best place in the State and in the Nation to do business. We need to strive locally and as a state to cut through the red-tape and make it easier for businesses to do business in Clark County."

Healthcare

  • Excerpt: "When politicians start thinking they can provide services better than the free market, people get hurt. In the case of Obamacare, people are losing their doctors, losing their health insurance, and seeing their premiums increase. That is not the type of change people were hoping for."

State’s Rights

  • Excerpt: "I think the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution says it best, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”"

Deficit

  • Excerpt: "Government, at every level, needs to balance its budget, just like every family needs to balance their checkbook."
