Anthony L. Parga is a justice of the Supreme Court 10th Judicial District in Nassau County, New York. He was elected to this position in 1997 and took office early the following year. His previous term ended in 2011, but he was re-elected to another term ending in 2025.[1][2]

Education

Parga began his lengthy educational career at Marist College, where he received his B.A. degree in 1971. He then received an M.S. degree from the Long Island University's Graduate School of Education in 1973 and an M.P.A. degree from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government in 1976. In 1979, he earned his J.D. degree from Hofstra Law School.[1]

Career

Parga began his career in 1980 as a court attorney for the Nassau County District Court. He then served as a Deputy Town Attorney of Oyster Bay for a brief time in 1983 and 1984 before becoming a law secretary for one of the state Supreme Court justices. He then served as a law secretary for a Nassau County Court judge from 1991 to 1992.

In 1992, Parga began his judicial career as an elected judge of the District Court of Nassau County. He held this position through 1997, when he was elected to the Supreme Court.[1]
