Vicki Barnett (Democratic Party) was a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing District 37. She assumed office in 2009. She left office in 2015.

Barnett (Democratic Party) ran for election to the Michigan State Senate to represent District 6. She lost in the Democratic primary on August 2, 2022.

Barnett served on the Farmington Hills City Council from 1995 to 2003, then as mayor of Farmington Hills until 2007.

Biography

Barnett received her B.S. and M.B.A. from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 1983 and 1991, respectively. Her professional experience includes working as an investment consultant at LPL Financial in Farmington Hills, and as a licensed accident, life and health insurance agent.

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 22, 2014. Incumbent Vincent Gregory defeated Vicki Barnett and Ellen Lipton in the Democratic primary. Boris Tuman was unopposed in the Republican primary. Gregory defeated Tuman in the general election.[1][2][3][4]

Barnett won re-election in the 2012 election for Michigan House of Representatives District 37. She ran unopposed in the August 7 Democratic primary and defeated Bruce Lilley (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[5][6]
