Vermont, nicknamed "The Green Mountain State," is bordered by New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York and Canada. It became the 14th state admitted to the Union in 1791. While Montpelier is Vermont’s capital, the city of Burlington is the largest city in Vermont.

Vermont has two members of the U.S. Senate, one member of the U.S. House of Representatives, 30 members of the State Senate and 150 members of the House of Representatives.
