The United States Circuit Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee was established on March 22, 1808, with the division of Tennessee into Eastern and Western judicial circuits. The Circuit Court for the Eastern District was abolished on March 3, 1911, with the rest of the circuit court system.[1]
