Timothy W. Oakes is a judge of the Marion County Superior Court in Indiana. He assumed office on January 1, 2009. His current term ends on December 31, 2026.

Oakes ran for re-election for judge of the Marion County Superior Court in Indiana. He won in the retention election on November 3, 2020.

Biography

Oakes received his undergraduate degree from Wabash College in 1986 and his J.D. degree from the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis in 1991. Before he became a judge, Oakes was the president and general counsel of the Indiana Cable Telecommunications Association from March 2004 to December 2008. He previously worked as an attorney in solo practice for eight years, specializing in criminal, family, government affairs, and probate law. Oakes also served as a public defender for both Marion and Shelby counties.[1]
