Fifth generation Montana, Married for 21 years, Father, Grandfather, 28 years of military service, volunteer for Girl Scouts USA and Boy Scouts of America.
  • House District 100 Democrat candidate fighting for our daughters’ rights to medical privacy.
  • House District 100 Democrat candidate fighting for pre-k funded education.
  • House District 100 Democrat candidate fighting for state funding in support of our houseless population.
Balancing the budget… Montana has a $2.6 billion budget surplus and raised property taxes again.
Mike Mansfield was a Marine that came home to Montana to serve our state for many years in politics.
The most important principles of a Montana elected official should revolve around supporting the majority of the constituents, not a national agenda. Your constituents send you to represent them and no other agenda should supersede that.
Integrity, over a century of family origins in Montana, and a lifetime of demonstrated commitment to our way of life.
The core responsibility is to represent the majority of the district you were sent to represent.
I would like to leave a legacy of responsible resource management, and a state that respects the rights of medical privacy for our daughters.
I had many part time jobs in high school to include summers on Christmas tree farms and once working as a School Janitor. My first real job was over 28 years of service to the Marine Corps from 17-46 years old.
Checks and balances… we all work to support and protect the same population.
Our state has a long history of processing natural resources. Challenges will be to either continue to improve our processes or retrain our employed constituents.
Yes. The very basic need for understanding proper etiquette in public meetings is essential to having your voice heard while representing your constituents. Understanding what your role can accomplish and what you cannot promise is essential to the integrity of the representative and the system.
Mentors are important to the process of doing business efficiently, but collaboration on agendas that your constituents don’t support lead to a compromise of your integrity.
I heard a story at a Neighborhood Committee meeting, that a lady could not afford her rent & her utilities. She chose to pay her rent, but lost her utilities to her house. Although it was outside the scope of the neighborhood committee, it was interesting to note that City Council members in the neighborhood did not attend neighborhood committee meetings. It was also interesting to note that HD Representatives in the neighborhood did not attend neighborhood committee meetings. We did connect the lady with support, but it highlights the lack of actual community engagement by those elected to represent the district. Understood, they can’t make every meeting, but the impact is two years and never attending a meeting leaves a void in their first hand knowledge and understanding of the concerns in the neighborhoods.
No. It should review continued support after the fact, but the additional delay in emergency support would be potentially catastrophic.
Wildlife, taxes, houseless populations, veterans, and medical privacy.
I have strong views supporting transparency, especially in justifying raising property taxes, lowering income tax, and maintaining a $2.6 billion budget surplus. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it. Stop meddling in meaningless tasks.
I oppose changes at this time. No process introduced at this time causes me any great concern or alarm. Our system has been working and with future technology, there might be a better process in the future. I don’t think we are there today.
