Terry B. O'Rourke is an associate justice on the Fourth District, Division One of the California Courts of Appeal. He was appointed by Governor Pete Wilson and took the oath of office on December 7, 1998.[1] He ran for retention in 2014, winning a new term that expires on January 3, 2027.[2][3]
Education
O'Rourke graduated from Claremont McKenna College in 1969. He received his juris doctor from Harvard Law School in 1972.[4]
Career
O'Rourke began his legal career as a private practice attorney in 1973. He worked as an attorney in San Diego and Los Angeles until 1984, when he was appointed to the Los Angeles Superior Court by Governor George Deukmejian. In 1987, he was appointed to the San Diego Superior Court, where he served until his appointment to the California Fourth District Court of Appeal.[4]

O'Rourke was retained to the 4th District Court of Appeal with 74.6 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [3]
