|Presently, Trey serves as a Homeless Housing Coordinator for the mental health agency of Tarrant County. His previous roles include working as a Homeless outreach specialist and case manager, facilitating connections between clients and mental health and substance abuse treatment programs.
Emphasizing the value of education, Trey has been accepted into the Ph.D. in Educational Psychology program at Texas A&M Commerce. Planning to pursue his studies remotely if elected, his platform revolves around integrating his professional experience in mental health with the insights gained through higher education. He underscores the pivotal role of informed leadership and voters in determining the success of every state.- I have advocated for an inventive solution to address the substantial military-industrial complex and transform its skills and expertise into contributors to green technologies and public transportation. Rather than an abrupt 10% funding reduction, which could jeopardize thousands of jobs tied to the system, I propose a gradual transition. This approach aims to maintain employment opportunities, such as those in CD-12, while generating tangible and positive outcomes that directly enhance the lives of citizens. The expertise of union members and the military-industrial complex's skilled labor could be utilized through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to support foreign nations, particularly in Latin America.
- Implementing impactful criminal justice reform that diminishes recidivism rates not only lessens the tax burden and stimulates the economy but also genuinely rehabilitates individuals with convictions. A pivotal element in lowering recidivism involves offering job training and educational opportunities to those convicted, enabling them to secure self-sustaining employment upon release and contributing to local economies. To ensure fairness, it is imperative to advocate for legislation that enhances accessibility and affordability of college and trade training for citizens without convictions.
- I endorse federal legislation that champions innovative public-private partnerships to expand housing availability, particularly focusing on multi-family dwellings. This comprehensive approach aims to relieve housing market strain, providing a diverse range of affordable options. Notably, increasing the housing supply can positively influence property taxes for citizens by fostering a more competitive real estate market, potentially moderating or reducing taxes. Supporting legislation prioritizing public-private partnerships is a strategic move to address the housing crisis, fostering fiscal benefits for citizens. This aligns with the goal of creating sustainable, inclusive communities while considering homeowners' financial well-being.
This multifaceted approach not only facilitates easier mobility for residents but also bears additional advantages. By reducing the number of vehicles on the road, we simultaneously alleviate the strain on infrastructure, mitigating wear and tear on roads. This contributes to a more sustainable urban environment, ensuring that those who still choose personal vehicles experience reduced congestion and smoother commuting. Furthermore, there's a substantial positive impact on the environment, with a decrease in the carbon footprint as a result of reduced vehicular emissions.
Additionally, I would recommend viewing the 2021 film "Bliss," featuring Owen Wilson and Salma Hayek. While not necessarily reflective of my political philosophy, the film provides a poignant portrayal of the experiences of individuals grappling with certain mental illnesses. It sheds light on how these conditions can lead to a disconnection from reality, often culminating in substance misuse and homelessness.
The crux of accountability lies in the direct connection between elected officials and the people they represent. During campaign seasons, the act of knocking on doors becomes a symbolic representation of accessibility and a genuine desire to understand the concerns of individuals at the grassroots level. This direct engagement allows elected officials to establish a personal rapport with constituents, fostering trust and demonstrating a sincere commitment to being attuned to the needs of the community.
In my approach to aiding individuals experiencing homelessness, I prioritize the development of meaningful relationships. By forging personal connections, I aim to comprehend the unique challenges and aspirations of each person, recognizing that their journeys are multifaceted and deserving of individualized attention.
The principle that guides my actions is a commitment to exhaustively exploring every avenue to provide assistance. Whether it involves connecting individuals with relevant social services, facilitating access to housing resources, or supporting their pursuit of education and employment opportunities, I am unwavering in my dedication to finding viable solutions. The goal is not merely to offer temporary relief but to empower individuals to achieve sustainable improvements in their lives.
Upon assuming office, elected officials inherit the responsibility to sustain a direct and open line of communication with the entirety of their constituency. This involves going beyond exclusive interactions with affluent donors and actively seeking input from citizens across the socioeconomic spectrum. Recognizing the equal value of every voice in our democratic framework, elected officials must prioritize accessibility and engage with the broader public to understand their concerns, needs, and aspirations.
In a democratic society, the power vested in elected officials is derived from the collective voice of the people. As such, the commitment to engage with citizens remains a cornerstone of effective governance. Regardless of socio-economic status, every citizen's perspective holds significance in shaping policies that genuinely represent the interests of the entire community.
My aspiration is to leave behind a lasting legacy that serves as a testament to the potential for positive change. I hope to be remembered as someone who demonstrated that individuals who have faced comparable hardships can overcome adversity and achieve remarkable accomplishments.
Upon reaching home, the mystery unfolded as we tuned in to the news. The images on the screen revealed the shocking reality of the 9/11 attacks, a tragic event that would leave an indelible mark on American history. As we watched the events unfold, little did we realize the profound impact it would have, shaping the course of the nation in ways that would resonate for years to come.
This personal journey has fueled my commitment to address the systemic issues that contribute to the mistreatment of workers. As I strive for public office, my mission is clear: to ensure that no one else has to endure the distressing situation of facing professional repercussions for prioritizing their health. It is unacceptable for individuals to be penalized for circumstances beyond their control, particularly when contending with significant health challenges.
Unlike U.S. Senators, who represent entire states, U.S. Representatives are closely tied to specific congressional districts. This proximity allows them to establish more intimate connections with their constituents, gaining a deeper understanding of the local challenges and aspirations. Such personal relationships foster a sense of trust and engagement, enabling Representatives to be more attuned to the pulse of their communities.
Moreover, the unique role of U.S. Representatives extends to their capability to bring localized concerns onto the national stage. By championing issues at the federal level, they contribute to shaping policies that resonate with the diverse needs of their constituents. This dual role, bridging the local and national realms, positions U.S. Representatives as effective advocates for their communities, utilizing the federal government as a resource to address and resolve local challenges.
The principle of "government for the people, by the people" resonates deeply, emphasizing the importance of a representative body that genuinely reflects the demographics, concerns, and aspirations of the citizenry. Introducing a more diverse range of professional backgrounds into the U.S. House brings a wealth of perspectives that extend beyond the traditional political sphere. Educators, healthcare professionals, and social workers, for instance, possess firsthand insights into the daily challenges faced by a significant portion of the population.
Furthermore, having a diverse array of professions in the U.S. House ensures a well-rounded understanding of the multifaceted needs of the American people. Teachers can offer perspectives on education policy, nurses on healthcare reform, and social workers on issues related to social justice. This diversity of expertise contributes to more comprehensive and informed decision-making, fostering policies that address the nuanced realities of citizens' lives.
Simultaneously, the issue of America's diminishing role on the world stage demands attention. Understanding the inherent threat that authoritarian governments pose to democracy worldwide, the U.S. must actively engage in global affairs rather than retreating into isolation. A retreat from international issues only serves to exacerbate challenges, and the interconnected nature of today's world necessitates active participation in addressing shared concerns.
In my perspective, a two-year term length for representatives strikes the right balance, preventing complacency by subjecting them to regular electoral challenges. This relatively short term ensures that representatives remain accountable and responsive to the evolving needs of their constituents, as they are consistently under the scrutiny of the electorate every two years.
The merit of a two-year term lies in its ability to foster an ongoing connection between representatives and the communities they serve. The electoral cycle ensures that representatives stay attuned to the concerns of their constituents, as the looming prospect of re-election prompts them to actively engage and address local issues. This dynamic electoral process serves as a built-in mechanism for accountability, promoting a sense of responsiveness and responsibility among elected officials.
The imposition of term limits is essential to counter the incumbent advantage that often hampers the introduction of fresh ideas into the sometimes insular realm of politics. By periodically bringing in new voices and perspectives, we foster a more dynamic and responsive political landscape that better aligns with the evolving needs of society. Term limits, therefore, serve as a mechanism for injecting vitality and innovation into our political system, ensuring that it remains adaptive and truly representative of the diverse populace it serves.
Working within the framework of local government, we harness the available resources to empower individuals on their journey towards stability. Recognizing the inherent value of each person's self-determination, our approach is collaborative, aiming to uplift and support rather than dictate. The satisfaction of witnessing individuals reclaim their lives, find employment, and rebuild their sense of self is a testament to the transformative impact that local government interventions can have on the lives of those in need.
Great way of capturing the failures of American healthcare.
While recognizing the importance of finding common ground, it is crucial to remain steadfast in upholding the principles that safeguard the well-being of the nation. If a party's inclinations lean towards advancing the agenda of plutocracy at the expense of the wider American populace, compromise becomes untenable. Upholding the integrity of democratic values and ensuring that policies prioritize the welfare of all citizens is paramount, even in the face of differing perspectives.
The intention behind this redirection is not to compromise employment opportunities but to foster the creation of new avenues for growth and prosperity. The transition from the military-industrial complex to the realms of public transportation and green technology holds the promise of job retention while simultaneously opening up fresh opportunities for employment. This shift not only aligns with the imperative to address pressing environmental concerns but also positions the nation on the forefront of innovation and sustainability.
The House has a pivotal role in steering these funds towards goals that yield tangible benefits for citizens. By investing in public transportation, we can enhance mobility, connectivity, and accessibility for individuals across the nation. Simultaneously, directing resources towards green technology initiatives supports the imperative transition to a more sustainable and environmentally conscious future.

Affordable Housing for ALL By investing in housing projects, the government can create jobs and stimulate economic activity, leading to an increase in the overall income of the population. As people have more disposable income, they might be more willing and able to afford housing, leading to a more balanced and sustainable rental market. Housing programs with attached strings can contribute to fostering social cohesion by promoting a sense of reciprocity and shared responsibility. By encouraging beneficiaries to contribute to their communities or to engage in activities that benefit society, these programs can help build stronger social ties and encourage a sense of mutual support and cooperation. When applicable, a housing program should motivate individuals to work towards self-sufficiency rather than relying solely on government assistance. Give people a jump start. By incentivizing education, job training, or employment, these conditions can help individuals develop the skills and resources necessary to secure stable employment and eventually transition into independent housing. Learn more: click here Criminal Justice Reform By implementing federal reforms that aim to reduce the number of individuals incarcerated, the nation can significantly lower the costs associated with maintaining federal prisons and reduce legal fees and court costs . This reduction in spending on the criminal justice system can free up funds that can be allocated to other critical areas such as education, infrastructure, and community development, ultimately leading to increased economic growth within specific communities. By investing in education, job training, and mental health services for individuals involved in the criminal justice system, communities can benefit from a more skilled and employable population, leading to increased productivity, higher employment rates, and ultimately, a stronger local economy. Reimagining the Military Industrial Complex Transitioning the skills and knowledge from the Military Industrial Complex to green technology and public transportation sectors can help retain these jobs while simultaneously fostering sustainable and environmentally friendly industries. This transition can provide a pathway for workers to continue utilizing their expertise while contributing to industries that are aligned with the goals of environmental sustainability and renewable energy. By redirecting resources and expertise from the military sector to green technology and public transportation, there is an opportunity to significantly contribute to environmental conservation and sustainable development. Green technology and public transportation initiatives can help reduce carbon emissions, mitigate climate change, and promote the use of renewable energy sources. Leveraging the skills and knowledge from the Military Industrial Complex can accelerate the development and deployment of innovative solutions aimed at addressing environmental challenges. Codify Roe Access to safe and legal abortions allows women to plan their families, pursue education, and participate fully in the workforce. When women have control over their reproductive health, it positively impacts their economic and social opportunities, contributing to overall societal progress. Legalizing and codifying abortion rights can help reduce criminality associated with illegal abortions. When abortions are illegal or heavily restricted, individuals might resort to unsafe, clandestine procedures that put their lives at risk and often involve criminal activities. By legalizing and regulating abortions, it can significantly reduce unsafe procedures and related criminal actions. The codification of Roe v. Wade at the federal level would enshrine the right to access safe and legal abortions as a fundamental right protected by law. Electing candidates who support this ensures that reproductive rights are preserved and not subject to changes or restrictions that could limit access to abortion services. Codifying Roe v. Wade at the federal level protects against potential rollbacks or challenges to abortion rights that may arise at the state level. This continuity ensures that access to abortion services remains consistent across the nation, preventing a patchwork of laws that could limit or eliminate these essential healthcare services in certain areas. Expanding Medicaid Medicaid expansion would provide health coverage to millions of low-income individuals who currently fall into the coverage gap. This expansion would allow more people, including Texans and those in rural areas, to access essential healthcare services, preventive care, and treatments they might otherwise forgo due to financial constraints. Healthcare costs can be burdensome, especially for those without insurance. Expanding Medicaid would alleviate financial strain on individuals and families by reducing out-of-pocket healthcare expenses, making essential medical services more affordable and accessible. By improving access to healthcare, Medicaid expansion can contribute to economic stability. When people have coverage for healthcare needs, they are more likely to seek preventive care and address health issues earlier, reducing the risk of more severe and expensive health problems down the line. This, in turn, can improve workforce productivity and reduce absenteeism due to health issues. Rural areas often struggle with hospital closures due to financial challenges and low patient volumes. Federal funding during the pandemic provided relief to these hospitals, preventing closures and ensuring that rural communities had access to essential healthcare services. Expanding Medicaid would continue to support these hospitals by increasing the number of insured patients, reducing uncompensated care costs, and stabilizing the healthcare infrastructure in rural America. Federal funding during the pandemic was crucial in preventing rural Texas hospitals from closing by providing financial support to healthcare facilities dealing with increased costs and reduced revenues due to the pandemic-related challenges. This funding helped hospitals maintain operations, retain staff, and continue providing essential care to their communities, highlighting the importance of federal support in sustaining healthcare access, especially in rural areas facing unique challenges. Secure Border & Pathway to Citizenship Maintaining security at the border can help prevent illegal trafficking of goods and promote fair labor practices. Liberal causes often focus on workers' rights and fair wages, and a secure border can help prevent the exploitation of undocumented workers by unscrupulous employers seeking to circumvent labor laws. Securing the United States and Mexico is not inherently opposed to liberal causes; rather, it can align with these causes by promoting humanitarian values, orderly immigration, fair labor practices, environmental protection, and international cooperation. The approach to border security can be crafted in a way that upholds liberal principles of justice, fairness, and compassion while addressing legitimate security concerns. Creating a clear pathway to citizenship for migrants and refugees in the United States is crucial for its significant economic benefits to local and state economies. As citizens, migrants and refugees contribute to tax revenues through income taxes, property taxes, and sales taxes. Their increased earning potential, as well as their businesses generating revenue, leads to more tax contributions, which benefit local and state economies by funding public services such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and public safety. In many sectors, there are labor shortages that immigrants can help fill. Additionally, as the native-born population ages, immigrants can help address demographic changes by replenishing the workforce and supporting the social welfare system through their contributions.[2] |

|The stepson of a United States Marine. Trey proudly holds a Master's in Criminal Justice from Texas Christian University. A community activist and founder of the nonprofit Another Hand to help feed hungry families struggling with food insecurity.
Trey is currently employed at M.H.M.R. as a Homeless Outreach Specialist. Trey Hunt is redirecting that same energy, determination, and passion to run for Congress and representing Texas's 12th Congressional District. Trey's platform focuses on public transportation, criminal justice reform, and increasing access to affordable healthcare.- Public transportation and green technology are economic & job opportunities our nation must prioritize.
- Criminal justice reform: we need true rehabilitation and transitional support for the convicted.
- Healthcare is a human right. We must expand our current government programs so everyone has access.
A 2015 Harvard study found that the number one factor determining if someone will escape poverty is their access to transportation. Public transportation will decongest roads, create quicker commute times, and give our economically struggling neighbors the ability to improve their position.
For those contractors who are not building public transportation vehicles, Trey Hunt will advocate for them to be awarded federal projects to build green technology that can assist in addressing the climate change crisis.
Trey Hunt is employed as a Homeless Outreach Specialist MHMR of Tarrant County, a local government agency assisting our communities to address mental health disorders and treatment. Trey can testify that one of the most significant obstacles for his homeless clients improving their situation is the lack of access to transportation.

Campaign website
Hunt's campaign website stated the following:
“ |
My Four Primary Goals: Criminal Justice Reform – Reform in the criminal justice system can save the taxpayer money and effectively rehabilitate the convicted, so they return as productive members of society instead of being chained to a brutal punitive system that drains the soul and the taxpayers’ wallet. Real rehabilitation and transitional support for the convicted, so we have economically viable members of our society. We will stop the revolving door and punitive system so that the taxpayer does not lose money. We can bring in new tax revenue by bringing people back into the workforce. Public Transportation – As cities become more congested, wasting productivity and increasing pollution, we must shift the focus and emphasis on cheap, reliable, and safe public transportation. I envision the federal government diverting funds to military contracts not to build planes and bombs to blow up buses of kids in other countries. Home Security – As we are reimaging policing, I see the need for community policing and community involvement. I want to support legislation that promotes citizens' and officers' relationships and have an optional federal reimbursement program for home security cameras/systems (like Ring, Safewise, ADT) that citizens can sign up for and assist officers in collecting evidence. Accessible & Affordable Healthcare – The pandemic has shown has the healthcare gap that we have known to be growing in the past few decades. I firmly believe that if we want to see economic growth, we need to make sure our citizens can access affordable healthcare to put them back to work. I have a particular emphasis on increasing the health care options in rural towns and areas of our nation where lack of treatment leads to other avoidable health problems and deaths.[2] |
