Travis Voyles is the Virginia Secretary of Natural and Historic Resources. He assumed office on February 8, 2024. His current term ends on January 17, 2026.
Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) appointed Voyles interim Virginia Secretary of Natural and Historic Resources on March 18, 2022 to replace Andrew Wheeler. Youngkin appointed Voyles permanent Secretary on May 1, 2023, and he was confirmed as Virginia Secretary of Natural and Historic Resources by the Virginia General Assembly on February 8, 2024. [1]
Biography
Voyles earned a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from the University of Georgia, a Master in City and Regional Planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a J.D. from Florida State University with a focus on environmental, energy, and land use law.
Prior to his appointment as Virginia Secretary of Natural and Historic Resources, Boyle served as Oversight Counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. He has also served at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and with the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. [2]
