Sidney Mathias
Sidney Mathias is a former Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing District 53 from 1999 to 2013.
Mathias Attorney. Prior to his election to the House he served as President of the Village of Buffalo Grove from 1991-1999, and as Trustee from 1998-1999.
Mathias is a member of the Southeast Regional Planning Council - College of Lake County, Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce, Buffalo Grove Chamber of Commerce Member, and the Wheeling/Prospect Heights Chamber of Commerce.[1]

2012
Mathias ran for re-election in the 2012 election for Illinois House of Representatives District 59. Mathias was unopposed in the March 20 Republican primary and was defeated by Carol Sente (D) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[3][4][5]
2010
Mathias won re-election to the 53rd District seat against Democrat Linda Birnbaum.[6] He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on February 2nd. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.

On November 4, 2008, Republican Sidney Mathias won re-election to the Illinois House of Representatives District 53 receiving 24,132 votes, ahead of Democrat Carol Javens (20,587 votes), and Rob Sherman (Green) who received 1,264 votes.[7]

On November 7, 2006, Republican Sidney Mathias won re-election to the Illinois House of Representatives District 53 receiving 18,751 votes ahead of Democrat Michael MacDonald who received 12,412 votes.[8]

Mathias received a score of 62.50 out of 100 in 2012 for a grade of C- according to the IOP’s grading scale. His score was tied for the 34th highest among all 120 members of the Illinois House of Representatives included in the Vote Card.[11]
