|Rep. Jones worked for Lockheed Martin Company, and was an active member of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers AFL-CIO Local Lodge 709 where she held several leadership positions: shop steward, grand lodge convention delegate, women’s convention delegate and bylaws committee chair. She served on the legislative committee and executive board - becoming the first female trustee for her union. She was elected legislative representative for the Georgia State Council of Machinists & Aerospace Workers (AFL-CIO). In this role, she represented more than 9,000 working men and women throughout the state - fighting for the rights of workers. She met with both state and national lawmakers to discuss issues affecting working families, such as raising the minimum wage, unemployment benefits and workers compensation. After 34 years of distinguished service, she retired from Lockheed Martin Company.

I am interested in other committees in the House because those committees will hear bills that have been assigned to their committees. That is where we get a chance to hear the bills debated before the reach the floor of the House. And, the committees is a place for the public to speak for or against legislation.

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
