Holcomb's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[13]
My Philosophy
- Excerpt: "I believe that voters want a representative who is interested in solving problems. Scoring political points isn't a way to fix anything. Neither is playing partisan politics. Honestly, there just isn't time for that."
Education
- Excerpt: "A high-quality public education system is key to Georgia's economic security. It is also the best investment we can make in the long term vitality of our communities. I am committed to fighting for innovation in our classrooms and creative solutions for our funding problems."
Economic Development & Jobs
- Excerpt: "During difficult economic times, one of government's most important responsibilities is to set the table for private sector growth. That requires innovative use of tax revenue, strategic investment in infrastructure (such as the Port of Savannah), and prudent support for people who are hurting due to the slowdown."
Ethics
- Excerpt: "I believe we should ban all lobbyist gifts and institute very strict disclosure laws. We need rules that make it plain to everybody that anyone holding public office in Georgia must put the people's interests first. If a politician can't support rules like that, he or she shouldn't hold office."
Veterans
- Excerpt: "As a veteran and a Member of the Defense and Veterans Affairs Committee, I am committed to helping Georgia's veterans and their families."

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
