A Champion for Livability
Affordable workforce housing is rapidly disappearing in Ward 10 replaced with market and luxury rate units.
Diverse middle and lower income residents including families, students, artists, seniors, and immigrants have been forced to move out, often to less accessible suburbs or even onto the street.
More crosswalks, signal timing changes, new stop signs and traffic signals are desperately needed to increase safety while increasing thefts and violence are ignored. A Real voice for Residents I will enable residents to have a real voice at City Hall. I insist on:
Several ordinances have been passed benefitting Special Interests while the People of Ward 10 are told that they are for their best interest.
The people have been dismissed and ignored too many times to count. Local businesses were not contacted to provide input on bike lanes and their requests to keep their parking have been ignored.
The city has forgotten how to really listen to the People and to respond to our needs. A Catalyst for Growing a Sustainable Economy
The city has worked against existing and proposed Ward 10 small businesses , taking away accessibility, allowing rents to skyrocket, forcing developers to build extra retail space while allowing existing retail space to sit empty, and passing city policies that do not understand the economics of small business.
Our diverse and creative economy of Ward 10 has been stifled by city policy and city ignorance.
It is difficult for new business owners to stay in business for the long term due to rising rents, difficulty navigating city regulations, the vagaries of city departments, and red tape.[6] |
