Galloway (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Montana House of Representatives to represent District 20. He lost in the Republican primary on June 4, 2024.
Biography
Steven Galloway was born in Great Falls, Montana. Galloway graduated from CMR High School in 1977. His career experience includes owning and operating businesses.[1]

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
Work for tax reform to attract more businesses to Montana and thus lower property owners taxes and raise enough revenue to fund schools and other services! Work to provide more access to mental health care! We need a policy of funding needs before wants!
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Tax reform We can cure many of our problems with funding if we can make this state more friendly to business, those existing and those we can attract! Metal heath is becoming a crisis and we need more providers for better access for those who are struggling!
Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?
Lola Sheldon-Galloway as she has lead the way for our involvement in our political careers! Tom Burnett of Bozeman for is great example and guidance in Lola's first session in the House of Representatives!
Is there a book, essay, film, or something else you would recommend to someone who wants to understand your political philosophy?
The constitution is always a good start! The story of the pilgrims of Plymouth Rock shows us and led us to capitalism as we know it today. They proved socialism does not work! A book called Crippled America.
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
Honesty, integrity,diplomacy, a thick skin and a good work ethic!
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
42 years in owning and operating businesses Understanding that you have to share perspectives to find common ground to get things done. Knowing what hard work is and not giving up when the going gets tough!
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
To represent their constituency in passing legislation and budgets to better their constituents lives.
What legacy would you like to leave?
That I am a son of God, a good husband, father, son, and brother. That I served my fellow man to the best of my abilities.
What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?
The assignation of President Kennedy! I believe I was 5years old.
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
My folks had a small motel. So I cleaned many rooms at an early age till I was 16. I also mowed the lawn at our local crematorium for a summer! I went into construction at age 16 and have been self employed ever since in several businesses we own.
What is your favorite holiday? Why?
The Forth of July It reminds me of all those who have given so much, even their very lives for us to have the freedoms we enjoy!
What is your favorite book? Why?
One is A Man of Steel and Velvet It teaches a man how to be a good man! Another good book is I don't have to make it all better
Every state besides Nebraska has two legislative chambers. What do you consider the most important differences between the legislative chambers in your state?
The house appropriates the money!

Tax policy

That they work for the good of their constituents and not their own agenda!

You have to build relationships to further any objective! One can not accomplish anything on their own in my opinion!

I am willing to do what ever I can to help where ever I can best use my God given talents and experience!
Both sitting legislators and candidates for office hear many personal stories from the residents of their district. Is there a story that you’ve heard that you found particularly touching, memorable, or impactful?
Mostly hearing how folks would like to see a better economy with good paying jobs to give our kids an opportunity to stay in Montana
