Stacy Erwin Oakes is a former Democratic member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing District 95 from her win in a special election on November 2, 2010, to January 1, 2015.[1] Oakes did not seek re-election in 2014.

Biography

Oakes graduated from Ferris State University and earned a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. She also graduated from Michigan State University College of Law. Her professional experience includes working as a policy analyst in the Michigan House of Representatives and as the state Assistant Attorney General.

Elections for the Michigan State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election was held on August 5, 2014, and a general election took place on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 22, 2014. Stacy Erwin Oakes defeated Garnet Lewis in the Democratic primary. Ken Horn was unopposed in the Republican primary. Horn defeated Oakes in the general election.[2][3][4][5]

Oakes won re-election in the 2012 election for Michigan House of Representatives District 95. She was unopposed in the August 7 Democratic primary and defeated Jeff Baker (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[6][7]

Oakes won election to the District 95 seat in 2010. She defeated Greg Dietrich, Joyce Seals and Pamela Smith in the August 3 Democratic primary. She then defeated Sarge Harvey (R) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[8][9]
