Campaign themes

Rogers' campaign website highlighted the following issues:[6]
“ |
Employment growth: We need to make growth in our communities a top priority. By expanding access to vocational and technical training, we broaden the skill set of our population so that we can better compete in the workforce. We have the optimum infrastructure and culture to promote both large and small businesses back in our communities. We did it once and we can do it again. Earning a living wage with highly-skilled jobs is the key to our growth. I will work bipartisan with government and industries to boost the consumer power in our economy by promoting the return of high-quality jobs back in our communities. Veterans: I will fight for our men and women who bravely served this country. We need to reduce the veterans homelessness and work towards making Pennsylvania the third state to end veteran homelessness. Because I honorably served, I know what is needed to enable access to veterans' entitlements and benefits. No veteran should ever be homeless. They sacrificed their lives to protect our homes. Senior Citizens: We need to protect senior citizens on fixed income from escalating propert taxation and cost. Social security discussion has almost become a non-topic for government leaders. I will stand up to assure that we don't fail hard workers who paid into social security. It's our civic duty to make sure that our senior citizens retire with dignity. Remember, we not only inherited our community from our parents, but we also borrowed it from our children.[7] |
