I'm Randall Wolf and live in Stuarts Draft in the central Shenandoah Valley. After a life as a journalist, I have found that running for office has many parallels. We talk with people in our communities and use facts and data to tell stories for people to understand their communities and the challenges they face.

I've been an advocate for people who walk and bike for transportation and recreation. A non-profit bike shop I operate has provided hundreds of bikes to the community at low or no cost. I'm running to put people first and protect their freedoms. I want to combat gun violence by proving funding to expand programs such has mental healthcare to save lives through a 30% excise tax on guns and ammunition. I support women and their full access to reproductive healthcare. Our state income brackets are 33 years old and need to be updated. I propose people who make under $75,000 pay less state income tax. I support mixed use zoning to build communities that encourage people to walk and bike and get to know their neighbors. Solar energy is critical to provide renewable energy for Virginians and will help family farmers survive and thrive in The Valley. Workers rights are important and we need family leave laws, laws to protect workers from excessive heat, and optional Pre-K to support working families. Affordable housing is a critical need in rural Virginia. Last I will protect our democratic principals and your right to vote.

  • Update our state income tax brackets so people who make less than $75,000 would pay less state tax.
  • Combat the gun violence empodemic with a 30 percent excise tax on the sale of guns and ammunition.
  • Protect personal freedoms and our democratic principals.
Mental health care and access to programs for people in need of care, help and support. I propose a new division of first responders of care givers to respond to people in crisis or with drug addiction. We must first try and help people, not make them criminals.
Greta Thunberg, she represents our future, she is fearless, smart, and a person of action and empowerment.
Knowing your own core principals, honesty, integrity, and transparency.
Honesty and the ability to talk with just about anyone. As a journalist I often faced meeting people in very difficult situations or people in power. I was comfortable talking with anyone learn from them. I have practiced creative collaboration and empower the expert as guiding principles or team management and see the same approach in office.
To listen to the people in your district and protect their freedoms.
That people trusted me and always felt they were respected by me.
Freelance newspaper photographer that led to a 40 plus year career as a photojournalist, and editor.
Einstein Dreams, it's an amazing look at time, space, and energy.
I have ADHD that I learned about late in life. It creates challenges at times, but also can be a strength.
The relationship between the Governor and state legislature should be one of respect and collaboration.
Protecting personal freedoms and women's access to abortion and reproductive healthcare. We also must provide fully funded public education and expand mental healthcare. Affordable housing is a problem throughout Virginia. Automation and AI will create challenges for workers. We need to look at our corporate tax structure with this in mind.
Yes, we are co-workers in representing the people of Virginia. We should know our peers and find common ground to work together when and where we can.
I heard about workers at the Hershey Choclate factory who had to work up to 43 days straight without a scheduled day off. This included some overtime pay, but no option for a day off, even for family or medical appointments without the prospect of being fired. This caused me and others to get involved in a union vote to represent the workers. Sadly it failed, but conditions have improved slightly. We need to legislate more work rules to prevent this from happening.
The next thing I say that makes others laugh.
Both, the legislature should grant emergency powers to the executive branch when a situation calls for this, but should always maintain its responsibility of oversight.
To combat gun violence with a 30 percent excise tax on the sale of guns and ammunition. These new funds would be dedicated to programs to save lives such as mental healthcare, law enforcement, school security, victim support, and gun buyback programs. This would also provide a tax-free week for licensed hunters to purchase a limited amount of ammunition and hunting guns and rifles, not handguns or assault-style weapons. California recently passed a similar law with an 11 percent excise tax. I was unaware of this proposed legislation when I started to propose my idea earlier in the year.
Planned Parent Advocats of Virgina, Moms Demand Action, AFL-CIO, Equality Virginia,
At this time, I'm focused on the election and would speak with leadership about where I'd fit and be the best asset for my district and experience.
