The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was August 29, 2017.[1] Incumbent Marsha Berzins defeated Martha Lugo, Naquetta Ricks, Debi Hunter Holen, and Robert Hargrove in the Aurora City Council Ward III general election.[2]
