Robert Allen (Mississippi)
Robert Allen was a 2012 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 3rd Congressional District of Mississippi. He was defeated by incumbent Gregg Harper in the Republican primary on March 13, 2012.[1]
Biography
Allen was born and raised in Illinois. He earned a bachelor's from Eastern Illinois University in 1969 and a master's from William Carey College in 1989. Allen served in the U.S. Air Force from 1970-1974. He worked as a chief technician with Gulf Coast Research Laboratory in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. He retired in 1999.[2]
Allen is a cofounder of the Starkville TEA party.[2]

Allen ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Mississippi's 3rd District. He was defeated by incumbent Gregg Harper in the Republican primary on March 13, 2012.[3][4]

Allen and his wife, Sue, have been married for 42 years. They have three children and 10 grandchildren. Allen converted from agnostic to Christianity when he was 26 years old.[2]
