We need to end our involvement in any of the wars or conflicts we are engaged in at this time. We need to close all our bases worldwide and bring our troops home. We need to wage peace aggressively, not war.

We need our own government to stop violating our civil rights and do away with legislation like the Patriot Act. This act allows our own government to spy on us violating the first and fourth amendment.

We need to end the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve creates money out of nothing (or out of debt) for the purposes of lending. The creation of this never-ending supply of money is what causes inflation as more money is chasing the same number of goods. Furthermore, it enables the politicians to finance never ending warfare and bail out failing banks and corporations which are well connected. All this is done at taxpayer expense.

Our country needs a more open political system. There are surely more than just two perspectives on the issues. The electorate is clamoring for more voices in the system and more choices on the ballots. Let's implement Ranked-Choice Voting so that voters can readily consider expressing their preferences instead of feeling compelled to oppose "the greater evil."

We’re facing a crisis of social and ecological unsustainability. The Republicans and Democrats have traded places running the country for 150 years. Their policies have jointly resulted in the inequality, militarism, and big-money domination of our politics that are at the root of the crisis we now face.

With over 800 bases worldwide and a military budget approaching $1 Trillion the United States can’t seem to resist getting itself involved in geopolitical conflicts. It’s not in our interest to try to play policeman all over the world. Money and our national reputation are being squandered on militarism. So I advocate closing all the bases, cutting the military budget in half, and reorienting our national priorities.

NO!!!!!!
Instead of term limits I think voters should choose people who are not career politicians to lead. Many politicians in Washington have held their position for multiple terms. These are the same politicians who have put the United States trillions of dollars in debt, in a proxy war with a nuclear power and allow government agencies to spy on citizens violating our rights. Instead of term limits just vote out these problem politicians and vote in people with fresh, new ideas.
For a candidate, civic involvement can be as important as governmental service.

There are too many to list, but chronic disease has our people spending 5x of our military budget.
Since the powers that have gotten us into a proxy war with Russia, I think that avoiding a nuclear war with that country is something we need to avoid for us and the rest of the world. We need to close all bases overseas, end our entangling alliances and not go abroad looking for dragons to slay and monsters to fight. We have enough issues at home to address. We need to end all our foreign wars. Also, if I have not mentioned it before, we need to end the Federal Reserve which allows the government to keep funding these never-ending wars.
Imperial over-extension to the point of exhaustion and depletion.

1. Poverty 2. Dealing with our mental health. I believe that the people in charge don't really believe that there is really a mental health problem in our country. 3. Our youth is a big problem in our country. Our adults are afraid to say no to them. We have to get hold of them now. 4. Educating our youth. How are we supposed to educate our youth but there is no incentive for them to be great.
Yes
Yes, though each electoral campaigning period should shortened so as to minimize the attention that needs to be devoted to being up for office every two years.

George Washington set them in place for a reason🇺🇸
There should be term limits for Congress.
I do not think there should be any term limits. I think the founding fathers got this one right. The fact that a politician can be voted out of office if they are not connecting with their constituents keeps them somewhat responsive. If they have a known time limit for how long they can serve, then this drastically affects the incentive for them to respond to voters concerns at all.
The voters can effectuate term limits via elections, we don't need laws for that purpose.

I believe that term limits should be more than two years. I feel that you will need at least three years to get your ideas across on what I want accomplished.
Ron Paul and Thomas Massie
Bernie Sanders was very independent-minded when he served in the House (he has become too much an establishment figure as a Senator).

I believe that Jim Florio was a great politician. Congressman Florio would come to the urban areas. Congressman Florio knew the heart beat of his people.
Marvin Bowe runs a micro-brewery in Swedesboro New Jersey. He told me that the state does not allow him to sell water, coffee or food. The state limits the number of events he can hold at his establishment. He told me that big business and large companies have undue influence in how government shapes legislation to make it difficult for small businesses to operate. This is wrong and must stop. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and small business owners should be helped not hindered. This kind of thing happens at every level of government whether it is state and local or federal. Things need to change so small business can proliferate and thrive.
Some in my district have relatives in Gaza and are very concerned for their safety.

I have a personal experience. Congressman Jim Florio helped my mother from getting kicked out of our house. He just wanted to make sure that the family was OK and that we were in school.

If ………your aunt had balls, she’d be your uncle!
A string walks into a bar. The bartender points at the string and says, "Hey, we don't allow strings in here." The string leaves the bar and goes inside an alley. The string ties itself into a knot and undoes the top end of the string. It then frays the ends of the string, so they are sticking up and outwards. The string then enters the bar again. The bartender looks up, points at the string and says, "Hey are you a string, because we don't allow strings in here." The string points at its knot and its frayed hair and exclaims, "I'm a frayed knot."

Sometimes and sometimes NOT
There may be times, regarding small matters, where compromise is necessary to accomplish a goal or to enact legislation. However, there are some issues on which one should never compromise. One should never compromise on any law or issue which violates the constitution.
Of course.

I believe that you have to have compromise to make this a better country.
I would only bring forth legislation regarding revenue and taxes that was allowed for in the United States Constitution. I would vote against any legislation which does not follow the provisions set forth by the United States Constitution. I would also support H.R. 8421 - Federal Reserve board Abolition Act sponsored by representative Thomas Massie.
I am a strong advocate for demilitarization.

The United States House of Representatives investigative powers should be used to gather information to create good legislation and to ensure that laws already in effect are being properly carried out.

All elected officials need to be completely transparent in there dealings with lobbyists, and globalists
We need to repeal legal tender laws and allow different types of money or currency to compete with one another. We also need to reduce taxes to those listed in the United States Constitution.
What happens to our tax dollars in Washington, DC is opaque and remote. Let's retain more of our resources and responsibilities locally.

General election race ratings

See also: Race rating definitions and methods

Ballotpedia provides race ratings from four outlets: The Cook Political Report, Inside Elections, Sabato's Crystal Ball, and DDHQ/The Hill. Each race rating indicates if one party is perceived to have an advantage in the race and, if so, the degree of advantage:

  • Safe and Solid ratings indicate that one party has a clear edge and the race is not competitive.
  • Likely ratings indicate that one party has a clear edge, but an upset is possible.
  • Lean ratings indicate that one party has a small edge, but the race is competitive.[4]
  • Toss-up ratings indicate that neither party has an advantage.

Race ratings are informed by a number of factors, including polling, candidate quality, and election result history in the race's district or state.[5][6][7]

Post-filing deadline analysis

The following analysis covers all U.S. House districts up for election in New Jersey in 2024. Information below was calculated on April 14, 2024, and may differ from information shown in the table above due to candidate replacements and withdrawals after that time.

Fifty candidates, including 25 Democrats and 25 Republicans, ran for New Jersey’s 12 U.S. House districts. That’s 4.17 candidates per district, less than the 4.67 candidates per district that ran in 2022 but the same as the 4.17 candidates per district that ran in 2020.

This was the first election to take place after U.S. District Judge Zahid Quraishi issued a preliminary injunction blocking the use of the county line primary ballot design in the Democratic Primary.

The 3rd Congressional District was the only open district, meaning no incumbents filed to run. That’s the same as in 2022, when one district was open. There were no open districts in 2020, two in 2018, none in 2016, and three in 2014.

Incumbent Andrew Kim (D-3rd) did not run for re-election to run for the U.S. Senate.

Nine candidates—five Democrats and four Republicans—ran for the open 3rd Congressional District, the most candidates that ran for a seat in New Jersey in 2024.

Sixteen primaries—seven Democratic and nine Republican—were contested in 2024, the most this decade. Fifteen primaries were contested in 2022 and 2020, respectively. There were 12 contested primaries in 2018, 10 contested primaries in 2016, and 12 in 2014.
