I will start with that this is by no means a bad anime. It has great art and the humor works if you are into this kind of it. Slapstick, fan service (although not that heavy) and fast-paced.
The overall story itself I think stumbled. I didn't find any character that likable and the main heroine was very obnoxious, which is by design, yet it does not feel like it is treated like that. I feel like we are meant to root for her, but I couldn't find myself doing that, knowing what her powers actually mean and this not being a tragedy. I waited for some heavy repercussions but was left hanging.
If you want a lesser form of Gintama with characters screaming all the time and some wacky, yet not really that wacky humor, I recommend this.

Highly recommended, because it's really funny most of the time, special the eng dub version, lots of mature language (reminded me of Deadpool in that sense) but the plot would have really benefited from another season or 3, they introduced so many things with potential that could be developed upon, like a love interest, which they promptly ignored because it's a comedy anime and you can't switch genres half way, although they could have for at least 5 minutes... i guess it's too much to ask. (7/10)

Though the premise was really good they blew it in the execution. It somehow disappointed me and reminded me of Natsume, Hanada, Pita ten, Megami-sama, etc., which were so endearing. And I was disappointed at why I saw it to the end as there was nothing at the end.
I think the anime creators misunderstood that slapstick comedy is easy. Gintama is able to pull it off only because we love and respect the people in it. Else it should be super brilliant.
If you are crazy about slapstick and you have nothing else to watch, check it out.

very funny anime with likable characters and a overall good story. Its shorteness makes it easy to pick up and there won't be a moment of boredom. Too bad there is no second season (yet? ;))

If you like comedy, slapstick, and parody, you shouldn't miss this one. I felt a couple of the episodes weren't as funny as the rest, but that isn't saying much as the rest were absolutely hilarious. On the whole, a great watch.

I'm a huge fan of comedy and thought this was a pretty solid watch. It can be extremely wacky - the main character is okay. The main selling point is the interactions between the goddess and the main character - they're a real hoot together.
