Anime: Dungeon no Naka no Hito

This series was interesting b/c it starts with enjoyable dungeon exploring and the MC's calculated methods; however that quickly shifts to the upkeep of maintaining a dungeon. When this focused on the admin side of the dungeon, this was slow... but when this went back to the adventures of the dungeon, that was entertaining, unfortunately, this primarily focuses on the management of the dungeon. This anime could've benefited from being half episodes to make the pacing better. In the end, this was a mixed watch as the majority of this is slowed paced with some brief dungeon adventuring sprinkled throughout.

You can look at my anime list and imagine my problem: This is the first time I come across an anime that is both cool and boring. I want to give it both a yellow and a green recommendation. Like the other person wrote here, it's a great idea of how a dungeon works. The "inner workings" so to speak, the bureaucracy, the physics, the recruitment of monsters, etc. It's a fascinating part of the story that I could have dreamed of but in another anime. The problem is that everything here is very simple, superficial, without motivation. It's... well, it's everyday life that works against itself because of the chosen topic. Seriously, this is a DUNGEON. I still highly recommend this anime overall, but look at the green color of the recommendation too. Something like that. For me, it was 7/10.

The main idea of this series is very interesting. We are used to see adventurers braving a dungeon, killing monsters, finding treasures and traps, and challenging bosses. But who built the dungeon, and put the monsters, treasures and traps there in the first place? And how does everything resets every now and then?
You could explain everything with "magic", or "godly powers", and be done with it. But Dungeon no Naka goes beyond, and show that the "dungeon" involves much more people, and more work, than only this.
But, unfortunately, the result here is a simple, plain, story. Characters are not interesting. Belle makes an effort to be likeble, but the MC have an "Ayanami Rei" level of charisma.
Almost zero action, almost no advance in characters relations and personalities, only matters about dungeon administration. This is interesting, but I missed some story going somewhere.
