Miller, and published by SAGE, revolutionized interpersonal communication research Roloff & Miller, 1987). These volumes set the tone for interpersonal communication research as we know it today. Every researcher who we know bought the books and assigned them in graduate courses. Our copies are literally falling apart from use. There were 11 years between the two Miller volumes, and now 21 years have passed. This is a time that vital, collaborative, and interdisciplinary research with its roots in interpersonal communication is being conducted, and we want to showcase that research in this new volume.
