The Augustinians: An International Community is a thirty-minute documentary that gives an all access look at the modern day brothers of the ancient Order of Saint Augustine. The men of this eight hundred year old Roman Catholic order are especially engaged in the modern world, while still living in tight-knit, mendicant communities across the globe. Just as Jesus sat with his disciples and broke bread, the Prior General Fr. Alejandro Anton and group of Augustinians from the General Council come together for a meal and reflect on their journey of living “one heart and one mind.” Through sharing stories of their vocation and charity, they examine the present day community of the Church and their role in it. The Augustinians: An International Community will take its viewers around the world, traveling to Rome, the Philippines and America. As viewers follow the Vicar General around the world, they will have an unprecedented glimpse into the Augustinian way of life. Viewers will experience The Order’s unique perspective on education and partake in the celebrations of the Sinulog-Santo Niño Festival. This community of joyful and passionate religious men refuse to be forgotten and strive to improve the world around them. Viewers will come away with a new perspective on the global community of The Church and the role of the Augustinians.
