1. Information Collection and Use
1.1. Information Collection: Filmwest Associates is the sole owner of the information collected on filmwest.com. Filmwest Associates collects information from our users at several different points on our web site.
1.1.1. Registration: Users of the Filmwest web site are not required to submit any personal information to view its content. There are, however, places on our site where users can submit personal information, including name, email address and mailing address so that we can provide information that may be of interest to our users. It is optional for users to provide demographic information (such as age, or gender).
1.2. Information Use: Filmwest Associates uses personal information to send out information that may be useful and informative to our visitors. We send out periodic email newsletters, mail catalogues, and send faxes regarding new product that may be of interest. It is not our intention to send out information that is unwanted. At a users’ request, we will cease sending out some or all of our promotional material to any address provided. Filmwest DOES NOT sell or share mailing lists with any third parties.
1.2.1. Profile: We store information that we collect through cookies, log files, and forms on the web site to create a profile of our users. A profile is stored information that we keep on individual users that details their viewing preferences. Consequently, collected information is tied to the users personally identifiable information to provide offers and improve the content of the site. We do not share your profile with other third parties.
1.2.2. Cookies: A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s computer tied to information about the user. A cookie is like a serial number; it is a unique identifier for our web site that contains no personal information in itself. We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. For the session ID cookie, once the user closes the web browser the cookie ‘terminates,’ or is removed from your computer. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on the users hard drive for an extended period of time. Persistent cookies can be removed by following the Internet browsers help file directions.
1.3. Third Party Advertising: Filmwest Associates does not advertise third party products on its web site. There are links to other sites within our web site, which are not governed by this privacy policy.
1.4. Log Files: Like most web sites, we use log files. These files include Internet address (IP addresses), browser type, referring/exit pages, platform type, the date and time of a visit, and the number and type of pages viewed during a visit. Our site logs do not record any personal information, like name, address, or email address. We use these log files to analyze the efficiency of our site as well as analyze which parts of our site are of the most interest to our users.
2. Communications from Filmwest
2.1. Special Offers and Updates: We regularly send information about our products and services to users registered with Filmwest. When a user submits any personal information to the site, we present an option for the user not to receive some or all of our communications.
2.2. Newsletter: If a user wishes to subscribe to our electronic newsletter, we ask for contact information such as name and email address. Out of respect for our users privacy, we provide a way to opt-out of these communications.
2.3. Service Announcements: On rare occasions, it is necessary to send out a strictly service related announcement. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send users an email. Generally, users may not opt-out of these communications, though they can deactivate their account. However, these communications are not promotional in nature, and are not regularly sent out.
2.4. Customer Service: We communicate with users on a regular basis to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account. We reply via email or phone, in accordance with the users wishes.
3. Sharing
3.1. Legal Disclaimer: Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when requested by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our web site.
3.2. Third Party Advertisers: Filmwest does not share customer information with third party advertisers.
4. Choice/Opt-out
4.1. Opt-out: Our users are given the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for information. Users who no longer wish to receive our newsletter and promotional communications may opt-out of receiving these communications by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link at the end of any email message.
4.2. Links: This web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we, Filmwest Associates, are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this web site.
4.3. Surveys and Contests: From time-to-time our site requests information from users via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as a zip code). Contact information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site. Users’ personally identifiable information is not shared with third parties.
5. Security
5.1. General Security: This web site takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the web site, their information is protected both online and offline. Sensitive information, like credit card numbers, are not stored on our Internet server. All of our users’ information is restricted to in-office use. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information.

6. Correcting/Updating/Deleting/Deactivating Personal Information: If a user’s personally identifiable information changes, or if a user no longer desires our service, we provide a way to correct, update or delete/deactivate personally identifiable information. This can be done through our “help” page, or by emailing info@filmwest.com.
7. Notification of Changes: If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to the home page, and other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If we are going to use the users’ personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, we will notify users via email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. If users have deactivated/opted out their account, then they will not be contacted, nor will their personal information be used in this new manner.
