Alice Cooper said he promised he would "polish" the star

Rock star Alice Cooper appeared in full make-up to accept a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
More than 300 fans turned up to cheer on the 55-year-old star in front of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard on Tuesday.
Cooper said: "I promise every time I walk down this street I will
polish that little star."
Cooper, real name Vincent Furnier, made his name as leader of the outrageous Alice Cooper band in the 1970s.
The band courted notoriety in the US for stage performances that included fake beheadings, horror film pastiches and live snakes.
The band scored many hits including Welcome to My Nightmare, School's Out, Under My Wheels and No More Mr Nice Guy.

The star, who was accompanied by his wife, posed for pictures with a fan's pet snake.
He told fans that in the earliest days of the band's career they were too poor to buy food at local cafes.
"We would walk over the names of Vincent Price, Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi, never, ever thinking that our names would ever be on the Walk of Fame," Cooper said. "That is really quite a privilege to be here."
His star sits in between those of singer Gene Autrey and Playboy founder Hugh Hefner.
