Download and print the application from our home page, or send a written request to the Board's office, a fee is not required. What is the date and location of the 2009 exam?
The exam will be administered on July 27, 28, and 29, 2009. The exam is administered at Widener University School of Law.
The exam is administered over two and one half days. The essay portion of the exam will be administered on Monday (8 essay questions) and Tuesday morning (2 MPT's). The MBE is administered on Wednesday.
Applicants must send:
Delaware does not have reciprocity of any kind with any other state. To be admitted to the Delaware Bar, an applicant must take the exam, including the MBE, in Delaware. MBE results secured in conjunction with the administration of the bar examination in another state are not accepted.
An applicants must have graduated from an ABA approved law school. Applicants must be filed timely and approved by the Board to sit for the exam. A weighted combined score of 145 is required on the essays and MBE. An applicant must also pass the MPRE (taken separately from the July examination) with a scaled score of 85. An applicant must also complete the clerkship requirement (see form and Rules) and attend the two-day Pre-Admission Conference before admission.
