Fiona Napier,  as International Advocacy Director, helps to coordinate and facilitate the efforts made by open society network which aim to further OSFs objectives through policy change.

Some advocacy work is long-term and strategic in nature (e.g. mobilizing more financial support for the global fight against AIDS; promoting an increase in Revenue Transparency), other efforts are necessarily of an ad-hoc nature (e.g. responding to the arrest of a open society network consultant).

Specific activities include:

-Working with colleagues to ensure that each policy reform effort has a comprehensive strategy; clear objectives; good advocacy asks; and identified target audiences;

-Ensuring that our advocacy efforts are well coordinated and, if necessary, prioritized;

-Providing strategic and tactical advice to colleagues working on policy change;

-Engaging-in relation to certain efforts-in direct advocacy with European governments and non-government actors.

The ultimate objective of all these activities is worldwide advancement towards an open society.
