About

On August 4, 2008, Detroit Cristo Rey High School proudly opened its doors to our inaugural class of incoming freshmen, the Class of 2012. As part of the Cristo Rey Network these 72 students have begun their journey toward college through one of the most exciting models of education in the U.S. Their education offers them a unique opportunity to pursue academic excellence while working at some of Detroit's premier corporate offices. Detroit Cristo Rey will continue to expand its program, accepting a new class of incoming freshmen every fall.

Detroit Cristo Rey High School provides high-quality college preparatory education to youth who would not otherwise be able to afford private school education.

Located at Vernor and Junction in the southwest area of the city, Detroit Cristo Rey High School is under the leadership of  the Basilian Fathers (St. Anne de Detroit Parish; Catholic Central High School, Novi, MI; and the former Holy Redeemer High School) and the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Marian High School, Bloomfield Hills, MI; and Marygrove College, Detroit).

Much of the school's funding comes from an innovative Corporate Work Study Program.   The school integrates classroom instruction with real-life work experience for each student by partnering with many of the finest businesses and corporations in the metropolitan Detroit area.  These partnerships allow the school to make a faith-based, student centered education available at a very affordable cost to its students.
