Not really impressed with this movie. A bit of a strange mix of different genres as far as I'm concerned because drama could easily have been labeled here as well. I expected a film that would be more about tension and atmosphere and I found the mystery (I hardly thought it was a mystery) disappointing. The role of the then very young Jodie Foster is good and she clearly showed that she was already a great acting talent. Martin Sheen also gives a good performance as the pervert.

Since the death of her father, Rynn [Jodie Foster] has lived alone in her parental home. Her landlord Mrs Hallet [Alexis Smith] is not happy with the situation and his son Frank [Martin Sheen], a charismatic man who has difficulty keeping his hands off little girls, regularly harasses her. Moreover, Rynn is hiding a big secret that makes her prefer not to have any snoopers around, but that turns out to be impossible.

A bizarre premise, but just wait for the denouement of this intriguing film. Martin Sheen plays his controversial role with verve and Jodie Foster, who never took acting lessons, holds her own as a girl who has to pretend to be more mature than she actually is. Not for all tastes, but certainly for fans of Foster and Sheen.
