"AMERICA'S NEW SWEETHEART"
The unattractive Janie Farnsworth is a Pennington High School student. This is an exclusive boarding school for children of famous Hollywood entertainers. Janie has a crush on Charles Grant. Jr., the writer and producer of the upcoming school play, but Charles feels she is insufficiently talented and too unattractive to participate in the play. Janie's life is already complicated because of her parents, Curtis Farnsworth and Eva Hawthorne, a famous actor couple, who have always paid more attention to their careers than their daughter.
