The Killer That Stalked New York plot
"One Woman Brings Terror to 8,000,000 People!"
Sheila Bennett returns from Cuba to New York City with smuggled diamonds worth $40,000. What Sheila doesn't know at the time is that she is infected with smallpox and infects everyone who comes near her. A cop takes Sheila to the neighboring pediatrician Dr. Wood, because she became unwell on the street, but he does not identify a smallpox infection, partly due to a superficial examination. Treasury Agency secret agent Johnson follows Sheila, but he loses her. Meanwhile, New York Health Commissioner Ellis along with Dr. Wood searches diligently for Sheila to prevent further spread of the smallpox virus in New York, unknowing that Johnson is also looking for her for another reason. Sheila, meanwhile, has other concerns besides feeling ill and being followed by Johnson: her criminal husband Matt Krane turns out to be having an affair with her sister Francie.
