Little Children plot

An idyllic American suburb, where well-earning citizens apparently live side by side. Recently, a convicted pedophile has returned to the area. A former police officer keeps an eye on him and hangs up flyers to warn the people. A number of housewives visit the playground with their children every day or otherwise visit the busy swimming pool. Their men live in their own world. Fantastic drama with a fairly simple yet gripping story and a cool ending. The playing is excellent and the overall atmosphere is also fine. Struggling with "forbidden" feelings makes the film very human and captivating to watch. I liked it!

This film is solid, but it didn't bore for a minute. Some storylines that could just have happened. A great cast makes this film complete, but unfortunately the ending was a bit meager. The atmosphere that was created throughout the film was good and realistic. For me, by the way, one of the few films in which a voice-over adds something. The scene with the pedophile in the pool was masterful..
(The comment by Lovelyboy about the panties as a mouth cap..... on June 24, 2019: perhaps there is a gap in the market at the moment....).

I put this DVD in my player late last night, not knowing much about the story and although I was tired I couldn't stop watching for a second. I was intrigued by the film and when it was finished I was left with my mouth open and a deep impression in my head.

I love the acting of Kate Winslet (Sarah) and she did another great job in this movie as the mother of Lucy's daughter and a husband obsessed with a fantasy website on the internet. Sarah is funny, serious and just a joy to watch. I really enjoyed watching her various relationships unfold, such as with the other moms, "The Prom King" and her daughter.

I often base my movie reviews on how much I was moved. In this case, I'm basing it on how much I was just intrigued. After seeing the movie twice, I've since read Tom Perotta's book and have really become a lover of the whole story.

Watch this movie and see if you can't sit out all the time.

I have a hunch you can!

A nice 8.
