La Religieuse plot
Eighteenth Century. Suzanne is 16 years old and her family has made her join the monastery, while she would rather lead a worldly life herself. In the monastery she is confronted with the arbitrariness of the ecclesiastical hierarchy: Mother Superiors who are sometimes benevolent, sometimes cruel or sometimes too loving... Her passion and strength keep her going against the horrors of the monastery. She has only one goal in mind: to fight with all possible means to regain her freedom.
