Through a series of flashbacks, Home of the Brave describes the emotional breakdown of a young black soldier, Peter Moss. Under examination by a sympathetic medical captain, Moss tells his story and uncovers some of the racist incidents he endured while on a five-man mission on a Japanese island. Repeatedly disfellowshipped and bullied by his white fellow soldiers, Moss has finally succumbed to the pressure. However, it was not his experiences on the island alone that caused the collapse of this black soldier.
