"WHY WON'T THE NEWSPAPERS GIVE A MAN A LIVING CHANCE. WHY DO THEY DIG UP THE PAST WHEN HE IS TRYING TO GO STRAIGHT?"
Wickland Snell is a seasoned journalist who lives for his work. He misses the beautiful moments that make life special. Because he is working on a story, he misses the birth of his daughter. He is also not at her wedding and when she dies giving birth to his grandson, he is not there. Later, he realizes what he's been missing and tries to convince a journalism student to do something different with his life.
