Exotica plot
"In a world of temptation, obsession is the deadliest desire."
At the Exotica nightclub on the outskirts of Toronto, girls put on striptease acts for their clients. An elderly customer shows a remarkable amount of interest in a certain stripper and becomes addicted to her.

It's wonderful how little by little this film changes from fairly superficial to a more complicated and deeper whole. The unraveling is done in a pleasant way and the puzzle pieces fit together seamlessly. Many events at the beginning of the film become clear later in the film, such as the wheat field. Very nicely made. And the exotic atmosphere is nice. Film is a bit slow, especially in the beginning, but otherwise a special and pleasant picture.

I don't really see the glory in this movie. A semi-erotic neo-noir that looks a bit like a TV movie. However, the film has a good story and some interesting characters. Unfortunately, too little is done about it. A typical product of the 90's that is now dated. Strange to see someone strip to music by Leonard Cohen.

Couldn't please me across the board.
An erotic atmosphere and a nice view into the nightclub with the inciting animator and excited gentlemen's customers, but the story (or stories) that was woven around it didn't really convince me nor did the sketched characters.
