Caótica Ana plot
The free-spirited and sultry Ana moves from Ibiza to Madrid at the age of 18 to develop further in painting. Ana ends up in a house with other young artists and meets exciting and fascinating people. Her spiritual journey begins in Madrid: Ana comes into contact with her past and has visions that seem to come from her past lives.

I'm impressed ! The alternation of chaotic images, beautiful art and precisely fitting music make this film a pleasure to watch. Protagonist Ana is too...a joy to watch. She interacts.
Very nice story in which you see the vulnerable, innocent Ana grow into a powerful goddess. How that came out in the end I thought too rude, to be honest. I get the symbolism behind it. Ana could finally overcome evil because she finally found herself completely and listened to her inner goddess. But I found it very raw how it was presented.
And yet, looking at the entire film, I was really sucked into it. Wonderful movie!

Seen again and what is especially striking is that Medem wanted to make a very personal film, in which he not only pays tribute to his deceased sister by showing her paintings, but also refers to his earlier work in which elements such as: the earthly existence , poetry and coincidence played a major role.
When I saw the film for the first time I initially had some problems with the last half hour, but now it was completely clear to me what Ana was doing in New ( Nueve Vivir!) York!
I also liked the scene at the high point towards the end a lot better, rather easy to accuse Medem of a simple anti-war statement. Of course, the scene conveys a certain message from the director, but if you look at the run-up and the theme of the film, I can only conclude that it was coincidence that brought us this scene and that the film has a powerful ending, which is perfect. consistent with the rest of the film.
The music is still as beautiful as before and the images often look breathtakingly cool. That leaves a mystical story about a vulnerable and also beautiful leading lady that you cannot ignore. I've had a great review, but I'm still stuck at a solid 4*. The film is at least a bit too unbalanced at times to be wrapped up completely.

Phew, this was an intense, artistic and often difficult trip. I find it hard to put my finger on it. Ana is wearing the film and god damn she is beautiful, the glance. It is sometimes distracting, but somewhere it also gives the right interpretation to her journey. It might go a little too fast from cave to discovery of multiple lives in her. The acting is sometimes a bit stiff. This will undoubtedly have major themes, but perhaps it is a bit too megalomaniacal in this respect. It didn't reach me. And while it was nice to see the sexy Ana in the 0 block, I didn't think it was a strong ending. A film that may well fall under the good intentions.
