Anche Libero Va Bene plot
Tommi is an 11 year old boy, timid and introverted, who lives with his father Renato and big sister Viola. The three live a quiet, harmonious life in good relationship with each other, thanks mainly to Viola's indestructible optimism. Then mother Stefania returns to the family. She has already left her family several times, but says she has completely changed now. It is difficult for the family to cope with the situation. Father and the children do not want to give up their relationship just like that and especially Tommi does not trust his mother at all.

Good film in which father, daughter and son are amazed when the previously runaway mother is back on the doorstep. The film gives a good picture of a disturbed family life in which the children become the victims of the frustrations/problems of the parents. And the film focuses mainly on the son. The beginning is a bit patchy.

Strong and compelling film, a drama worthy of the name drama; with a fantastic young actor, but also with a director who portrays that boy perfectly.
The father and mother are, both in their own way, unstable people. As a viewer you can't choose sides, because they both go wrong in their own way. They don't evoke sympathy, rather annoyance and irritation, sometimes to the extent that I was in doubt as to whether I was annoyed by the characters or their work as actors. In the end, it's the former anyway, because what happens - both the story as a whole and the behavior of the parents - unfortunately also happens in the real world.
Allessandro Morace plays unparalleled. His face reflects feelings of sadness, fear and resignation. But Rossi Stuart also creates scenes that focus entirely on that: the last time Tommi leaves the pool; in the car when he reads his mother's note and starts crying the one and only time; the scene in the bath where it appears that the gap between him and his mother has grown; in the bedroom at his father's bedside, just before they fly into each other's arms, and the moment that grabbed me the most: when he stands in the elevator with his father and sister and says there's [spoiler ]no light is on in their apartment. Numerous scenes where Morace delivers a stunning work.
A year later, he's still in a TV movie, and that's where his acting ends (at least according to imdb). Very unfortunate.
I went for 4*, make it 4.5 in honor of Morace, and don't give 5 because I can't make sense of what's happening to Tommi at school. Especially the situation with the deaf boy, it could be part of the story, it could be a side story; but i can't help it...?

A good Italian movie. An interesting story and very well played. It moved me, partly because it is so realistic. That makes it more palpable to me. I find the whole thing intense, sad and compelling. 4*
