Weary River plot
Jerry Larrabee is serving a sentence for being cheated by a rival mobster. In prison, he gets the chance to show his good side when the prison director lets him perform as a singer. After being acquitted by the governor, Jerry tries to make it as a singer. But each time the crowd shouts "prisoner", causing him to lose concentration. As a result, he falls into old habits.
