This Is the Sea plot

The story is set in Northern Ireland shortly after 1994. Hazel Stokes (Samantha Morton) is Protestant and Malachy McAliskey (Ross McDade) Catholic. Their friendship and love for each other is threatened by various causes. Malachy is constantly harassed by friends who want to drag him into the underground resistance movement. Hazel, however, is spied on by her own brother, who cannot let her go.
